Just in time for Mothers’ Day, Amy Grant released her four-track EP entitled She Colors My Day. It contains four mother-themed tracks including the previously released online single She Colors My Day, the new exclusive single co-written with longtime songwriting partner Wayne Kirkpatrick called Unafraid, plus two older tracks, Baby Baby and Oh How the Years Go By.
Though the two last tracks are solid offerings in their own right, longtime fans are likely to already have these songs in their library and are mostly unnecessary for the most dedicated of fans who will buy up this EP unheard (including myself).
The song She Colors My Day will also become a bit more relevant to me in the coming days as my first daughter approaches her introduction to the world.
Royalties from downloads of She Colors My Day will be donated to the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund in honor of Annette Tauber, a close friend of Cristina Carlino whose skin care company, philosophy [sic], is partnering in the fund raising effort and donating funds from the sales of their products.
The title track is classic, feel-good, pop-friendly Amy Grant styling with a heavy dose of sentimentality (if you’re into that sort of thing). If that’s what draws you to her music, it will prove to be a satisfying purchase and you can feel good knowing the money will go to a good cause.
